Post subject:  B2TAE Engine Code?

So I have had this code for a while now and have done a search but its still unclear to me what it is. Even a general google search brings up a bunch of posts on other forums that reveal nothing. I have seen numerous threads where people have gotten this code with various other codes(glow plugs, maf, etc etc.) but haven't seen an answer on what this is.

With my GDE tune at least, it hasnt caused a CEL.

I get that one too.
I think its just a generic electrical fault.
Like a bulb out, something unplugged, or a bad switch or relay.
If it was something serious you would have discovered it by now.

What are you using to scan? I've seen this code with Torque but not with my Innova or a Solus. My conclusion was that it has something to do with Torque rather than a real code.

Yeah I am using torque as well. I was wondering if it's caused by the Bluetooth adapter itself since these ecms are so sensitive to scanning tools. therefore you always have it when you are using torque.

I do have a bad maf so I am wondering if it may also be associated with that. It's plugged in but not reading anything. GDE has the tune set so that it doesn't trigger a cel but it does show up when you scan codes with torque.

Now, it's possible that it's only coinciding with other codes. I don't believe I've ever seen it on it's own.

Whatever that code is it doesn't match the standard obdii protocol. Try another scanner and see what it shows. It seems like something is garbled, like a bad hex address is getting read out.

Old thread... I know. Just wanted to add that I'm seeing it in conjunction with p0401 and p0101. Also using torque.

P0101 is a bad or unplugged MAF

P0401 is a bad or unplugged EGR

I originally saw it with a bad maf as well

I had that once before as well, assumed it was a body code rather than powertrain since it starts with a 'B' rather than 'P'. One theory I had was that it's TPMS-related, but that's only because I also had a flashing TPMS light for bad tire pressure sensor or something.
