Under light pedal before the converter lock in and after trans will buck a little. I know about the torque converter being a weak link. It also downshifted twice on me to 4th gear but only for a second and then goes back. I've changed the fluid and filters and no change. There was no metal on the magnet. Pan was really clean. Considering it hasn't been changed since 09. The fluid didn't have a burnt smell to it. Is there a solenoid that could be causing this or converter. It shifts good other than that.
213xxx miles on it.

where is the fluid level at? These things act better when ran a little fuller of fluid. Try topping it off and seeing if that does anything

I did that and no change

With that many miles, I'd throw a solenoid pack in it.

I'm just wondering if there is a solenoid that's causing this problem? I'd hate to spend money that a I don't have on a TC and that not fix the problem.

There are also valve body upgrades that should be performed that deal specifically with internal fluid pressure loss. You can do solenoid pack without pulling trans. If you have to pull trans, do a torque converter for sure.

Could you go into specifics about what solenoids should be replaced. Is there a kit or all sold individual.

I think they spoke about the internal solenoid , I already changed it for the temp sensor

If you go in to replace the TC, be sure and replace the front pump assembly at the same time.
There are threads with lots of information on this forum that covers the reasons for front pump replacement! Do a search

The front pump has some plungers in it in addition to the oil pump gears, that wear out the bores and the plungers and they start to stick in the bore causing problems. This is a common problem on both the 45RFE & 545RFE transmissions according to my transmission specialist who installed my Suncoast TC and a new front pump assembly... :banghead:
