IIRC the 2006 and later requires the Starscan or the new wi-fi one.

If you have a 2006 you would need the starscan or witech for access to the ABS and BCM.

I'm thinking about trying this guy out:

Its cheaper than my autel and may let me do more......however some things indicate it might not work on 2004 and older vehicles, so I guess we will see.

This one is more expensive but reportedly supports older vehicles.

The Wi-Tech system is not conducive to emulators or Non-Dealer users.

Specifics:

* PC-Based: Requires PC connection

* Model Year Coverage: 100% CAN equipped vehicle coverage to current

* A separate Tech Authority Subscription is required to access to Module Re-Flash Programming, TSBs, wiring diagrams, and repair information.

You have to have access to a dealer account and an authorized user code or something like that. If you try to log in to them and don't have valid information, they send a command that completely disables the hardware that's attempting to be used. At least the price on this isn't near as much as the common wiTech clones. The price on the Tech Authority Subscription is both astronomical and annual. Only a dealer or someone doing that volume of work could possibly find it worthwhile.
Note the warning NOT to connect with FCA or attempt to update software.

At least that was my understanding when looking into the wiTech clones. Also the Starscan emulators I've found are $3k-$4k.
If you find that this system works without those expenses, please let us know!!

That is correct, but that really doesn't matter to me, heres why.
-Tech Authority one day access can be bought for $25 a day.
-We already have wiring diagrams available thanks to the damm good looking and all around badass webmaster at Colorado4Wheel.com
-Module reflash will load new firmware, such as loading the F37 neuter. Personally I don't see much need to load new flashes right now.
    -Repair information-??????? something something LOST.

So, reading up on the other clones they work just fine, and can even work if you pay for the tech authority subscription to flash. The modules are small enough and inexpensive enough that they could be sent around to LOST members as they are needed for things like reprogramming the passenger seat.

I have confirmed reports about the witech pod clone, but I don't have many reports for the Micropod and how it works. The Micropod is about half the price of the witech clone, which makes it temping.

I have not pulled the trigger on either because I have a DRBIII and the Autel, plus cheaper wifi code readers, AND other basic code readers.
