I know this has been discussed but I can't remember where so i wanted to ask quickly.

I have a project in the works and was planning on using the existing Y-pipe that connects to the coolant tube which runs over the top of the intake manifold and then down the side of the block to the EGR cooler. I have already installed the Weeks Stage 2 kit so my EGR and crossover tube are gone and the Y fitting has been replaced with the straight tube. I was going to put this Y fitting back in place and feed off of it. which direction does the coolant flow in the cross over tube, EGR to Y-fitting or Y-fitting to EGR side? Where does the flow originate, does it come straight out of the block?

TIA

If I remember correctly...

Coolant flowed out the driver side of the head and down to the EGR cooler.
Then from the EGR cooler up over the top of the head where it teed into (the y pipe) the heater outlet line.
Then down to the inlet at the water pump.

So that line that it tees into is the cabin heater outlet? Does that line always have flow through it regardless of the heat setting on the Hvac controls

I would think it does flow all of the time, as there isn't the big slider control knob in the cab like in an old Toyota. I just can't see there being an electrically controlled valve in the piping that stops water from flowing through the heater core, but I could be wrong :?:

Yes. The heater always has coolant flowing through it. No valve.
