Happy New Year to all members!!!
I have a question regarding Jeep Liberty CRD fuel filter. I found that filter on Ebay: 221398942179. This is Racor 690 diesel fuel filter. The price is very attractive $80 for filter with heater
(heater alone cost almost $80). The only problem is the filter size is almost 11" long. Any experience or advise is deeply appreciated. Thanks :?:

Don't know about the 690, but the 245 series was standard on the intl models before 2005. I have the 245 series installed on my CRD. perfect fit.

From the auction pics, the 245R10 doesn't appear to have a heater. I think the 245R122 is the Racor replacement for the CRD.

Thanks all for your comments. My point is, why to pay almost $200 for Racor model 215 if I can get something similar for $80. This is fuel filter with heater. The only differences from Racor webpage is the flow rate (90 gallons versus 45 gallons) , port sizes (3/8 versus 1/4) and lenght size (11.2" versus 10.5"). So in my opinion it is worthy to to try .I already purchased one. I also found the replacement filter element - 2 micron for $15 ( Donaldson P551065).

Mass-hole/MM53/Auberon,
Are using a connector to connect the Omega sensor to the factory plug? I have everything I need to install the Racor 245 and Omega sensor with the exception of the connector to connect the Omega sensor to the factory plug.

Do you have part numbers for the connector? I read this Racor Install but it doesn't have part numbers.

I trimmed the connector off of the factory wiring and used an h11 style connector I had laying around to replace it. It's not a thermocouple so I don't believe it relies on different metals to create the voltage so any connector should work.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably just order a new matching set of male and female apex connectors. I don't have time to search salvage yards anymore. I wish I did. When I was a shift worker, I had off days during the week. I have found many treasures at good prices in the past. Now days, the only time I have to work on our vehicles is at night or Saturday and Sunday. I don't have time to drive 50 miles on a Saturday to a salvage yard, search for parts (and possibly come home empty handed) and perform work on the vehicles.

I just placed an order from www.mouser.com. When I confirm that I have the correct parts, I will post the part numbers here for reference.

I ordered and received the following parts from http://www.mouser.com to connect the Omega TH-44004-1/4NPT-12 temp sensor.

2 way male housing - 649-54200210
2 way female housing - 649-54200206
APEX 2.8MM male terminal (22 gauge) - 829-10762776 (for Omega sensor)
APEX 2.8MM female terminal (18 - 20 gauge) - 829-10757690-L (for CRD wiring)

The plug for the OEM fuel head temp sensor is removed from the CRD wiring and the APEX female connector is crimped in its place.
