Hello all.Sorry if this is beating a dead horse but search refuses to search... Too common?

Any way... Have a 2k6 CRD with a GDE tune. Has about 140k Mi and as you can probably imagine it needs some suspension work...And it needs some extra height too. Wife really likes it and wants to keep and get it all set up.

Was thinking JBA 2.5" silver package... Would that be enough? It's all we could afford honestly, on the expensive end.

Please leave all your :2cents: and opinions on lift/suspension upgrades and tires and such.

Are my current rims fine? I know we'll need spacers.... I found all kinds of info 4 or 5 months ago, but just cant get search to work at all... :furious:
Thanks in advance!

For searching use google and type in "site:www.lostjeeps.com" after whatever you wanna search for like "CRD Lift"

But yes the 2.5" JBA is a real nice setup. Id also recommend the JBA arms. Go with 16x7 with 4" backspacing wheels. Steel wheels like the soft 8 are popular.
Stay with 245/75r16 or 265/70r16 and you wont have to regear to 4.10s

Thanks a lot!

Sorry I'm pretty new to this... Could you all give me some info on what other options I have? Biggest worry is that a 4 inch is really whats needed.... How would I know for sure before buying rims/wheel and trying to fit them? Would really just like to get all set up for her right the first time, you know. And it doesn't have to be all at once....

Wouldn't be able to get the controll arms for a while.... Only have 1200 to work with right now, right now. Would really like to know how this compares to like the OME and franken lift.

Sorry, I kind of don't really know where or how to start....

Thanks a lot for any additional help/links in advanced!

I'ma read up some more on tire sizes and re-gearing.

Has there been any newb friendly write up or anything thrown together on this subject?

I love my OME lift. Ride is 1000x better than my wore out stock suspension. Add a set a JK Moab wheels and you'll like the look. See a pic of my jeep in my sig below. I am still running the 235/75 tires I had before the lift, but soon I'll need new tires and plan on going a little bigger. 245/75 or 265/70.

Here's another approval opinion on the JBA lift. Here's why...

I bought my JBA lift on here used and it came off a gas powered vehicle. That said, even though I bought used, Marlin, the owner of JBA now, has been nothing but helpful. He shipped the CRD springs with with a FEDEX label for the return of the gas springs. He has been extremely helpful on the disassembly process on our Jeep to fit his kit and helpful with basic questions on the installation. All told, I bought a rear shock from him as the kit I bought did not have one as it was damaged in the accident. I have never met someone who gives better customer service. By the way, all questions asked were via calls placed to his shop!

Furthermore, the kit is quality. Everything is first rate.

As for tires, I bought some used Moab's (from the 03-06) TJ Rubicons and will install with 245/75-16 tires per Marlins recommendation. The Moab's for 5 came to $300. Can't go better than that unless the wheels are not to your liking.

I second that about the OME lift. I have medium springs in back. Bought as a set from rocky mountain outfitters.
