Post subject:  Fuel line piece... help locating it

While putting in the Sasquatch kit, we broke a plastic piece that is part of the diesel fuel supply.

This piece attached to the block, passenger (strike, mean driver) side, with one bolt and the injection fuel line from the rear most injector comes into it from the top. Two larger fuel lines, one to the back and one to the fuel head (I believe) also come out of it from the sides.

The nipple that attaches to the fuel injection line broke off. The part itself carries a Dayco indicator and part number PA66GF30. I have found one reference for this number which indicates it is a polymer matrix composite, so may not be a part number, but a manufacturers number indicating composition or materials in the part.

OK, looks like its called a "fuel return line bridge" and for a piece of plastic, it is expensive. Part number we have found...5142809AB Mopar.

Does anyone have an idea what the part might be called and even better, where it can be found?

Thank you!

OK, presuming it can be found at the dealer...is there anything/process I need to perform to install and get the vehicle running? I ask because the fuel system has now been opened. I'm thinking air in the line and all that...

Thank you!

Did you mean on the driver side? There is no fuel related stuff on the passenger side. Sounds like you broke the return bridge thing. There is a thread on here where a few have made their own out of brass fittings. Hopefully someone can link it. It's definitely a better/cheaper option than buying that expensive part

Yes Sir, you are correct, driver side. I will edit and make the change. Not sure about the brass thing because that means messing with the hoses and I'm not so sure I want to get into all of that.

The piece is expensive, no doubt!

Not where I can post a link but just do a Google search for lost kj fuel return block. What you need should be at the first search hit.

Your gonna have to mess with them anyway putting a new piece on so why not make it more durable and not break if you look at it funny

Then two questions if I go the repair route:

1. How were the brass fittings attached to the block since one would not want it hanging, stressing the lines I presume.

2. In the pictures, especially on the IDparts site, there is a white plastic piece sitting on the end of the rubber hose. Based on what I've read, when doing the repair, that valve along with the hose is replaced by the marine fuel hose. That valve or white piece does not serve a purpose?

Thank you for the references to the brass repair pieces. I'm working myself up to doing the repair as I get closer to understanding the process.

Some of us have JB welded the pieces left. It is just a junction for return fuel etc and is low pressure line. So brass would be way more than what you need.

Thank you. I found a pretty good little air hose with brass junction barb description on here. Essentially similar to the plumbing supply pieces. For some reason, it "speaks" to me. :)

Honestly, I do feel dumb though with the posts I have now found on this very topic. Seems most people are confused by the part and what its called when they encounter our very situation. Amazing how similar the topics are.

The post I'm referencing is here with the air hose junction:

Don't feel dumb, honest question. Here's your help. Go to the Home depot plumbing dept. where the brass fittings are Get the right size of barbed nipples and two "T"'s of the 1/4" size. nipples also 1/4 on the threads and 1 short connecting nipple assemble these pieces in the same configuration as the FUEL MANIFOLD. Get Diesel grade fuel hose it has a liner inside to prevent degradation of the hose from the fuel. Its costly but important.
Do a search on here and look for the Fuel return Manifold and the brass set up should come up some where.
This same thing happen to us and this repair is supper. Should have been done from VM.
Good luck.

Substantially followed that advice, but bought the octagonal air regulator piece. Went to plumbing section to pick up the small barbs. Waited on the regulator piece to come in. Came in today. Bought the Mopar piece in the meantime as the kid has to have the car completed to go back to college. We got it together tonight, in for alignment.
