I have an upgraded replacement Sasquatch Turbocharger with the DS Wicked Wheel 2 compressor wheel. The compressor housing seems to have loosened up ever so slightly from the cast iron turbine side of the turbo and thus I need to remove the compressor wheel to get to the compressor backing plate mounting bolts so i can remove them one by one adding some red Loctite before reinstalling them.

Is it possible to remove the compressor wheel without removing the turbo? The Wicked Wheel is held on by an 8mm 12-point left hand threaded (reverse thread) nut. So I know that the nut can be removed, just not sure how to hold the compressor wheel itself to keep it from spinning while I remove the nut. Also presuming that I get the compressor wheel off does anyone know the torque specs for both the compressor backing plate bolts as well as the compressor wheel nut?

More then likely I anticipate having to remove the turbo to either disassemble and fix it myself or to tame it to a shop where they can do it?

Any ideas or advise on the best way to proceed is welcome.

Thx - Chris

I only discovered the issue when I went to replace the hot side CAC hose. I didn't notice it being loose 2 weeks ago when I replaced the air intake hose with an upgraded Sasquatch Silicone Intake Hose,. So it appears that this just happened.

Boy did I get lucky as if I had not noticed this I'm pretty sure that it would have continued to loosen thus damaging the turbo and more than likely during the roadtrip I've got planned in 1-1/2 weeks out to go and pickup a backcountry camping trailer.

I'll see if I can get a video of the movement.

I would start by getting in touch with Sasquatch Parts to see what they can do to help you. This sounds like a problem that you should not have to be dealing with on, what I assume, is a fairly new unit. I would be concerned about other issues if the housing came loose.

I thought about contacting Sasquatch Parts about the issue, but the Turbo is 2-1/2 yrs old and their warranty is for only 1 year. This puts the turbo out of warranty and has been for ~ 1-1/2 yrs beyond their warranty period. I'm still going to reach out to them regarding the issue to let them know what happened and to discuss the issue with them. Unfortunately being it's a holiday weekend they are closed until tomorrow and I need to get the jeep back up and running to be ready for my road trip?.

I reached out to Seth @ Sasquatch Parts earlier this morning and do you want to talk about awesome customer service, Seth has offered to replace the defective turbo even through it is out of warranty! Needless to say I was blown away by Seth's integrity and graciousness in this matter. Sasquatch Parts will continue to get my business as customer service such as this is quite rare and very much appreciated!
