Post subject:  Transmission cooler hoses

Hi all,
I have a 2005 crd automatic, and the transmission cooler hose has sprung a leak of transmission fluid.
My plan is to remove the hose and get one made up, but I'm a bit confused by the quick commectors.
Do I need a special tool to remove these or can I get by with a screwdriver?
I take it that you need to prise of the white dust cover, then remove a spring clip?
Any advice greatly appreciated!
Many thanks
Danny

Yes, snap the white cover loose and then pull the spring clip from around the fitting. Be careful not to damage it as you'll need to reuse it for installation of the new hoses............it's going to be the same at each end both at the transmission and the oil cooler up forward.

Just replace bad hoses with new 3/8 transmission hose from an Autoparts. Use some Clamps and you're fine, no need for anything special since the pressure is not too high.

Last summer I had to tackle this job.
I replaced my transmission filter & pan because it appeared to be leaking only to discover it was the cooling lines.

The replacement cooling lines from the dealership were really expensive, I don't remember the figure but it was something like over $120 each.
I couldn't remove my fittings either because of corrosion so I took my Jeep to my local garage.
Then we discovered that the dealership sold me the replacement cooling lines but not the required adapter fittings. For some strange reason the cooling lines don't directly fit into the transmission.
Do the Autozone cooling lines fit straight into the transmission?

Thanks for the reply chaps!
I've managed to remove the hose and cut it off at the Ferrell.
Have taken it to a hose shop who are going to put on a new Ferrell and piece of hose.
I'm not quite sure of the hose I.d though, can you guys confirm it is indeed 3/8" I.d?
Cheers danny

I already posted, it's 3/8in transmission/oil hose. Or if you're not in us, you need a 10mm hose. Available on any Autoparts store.
