Its possible that the whole problem is related to a bad battery.

and other than a weak battery (he's been keeping it on charge even while attempting to start it)

well jeep was at the dealer , so they should know how to load test battery , but I'm not sure if they are on track with diagnosing fuel system

Seriously now, I wouldn't trust a dealership to correctly diagnose what day of the week it is. They never look to the obvious solutions for anything. The obvious answer is usually the cheapest, and that doesn't make them any money. Witness that they blamed your injectors, easily been an air-in-fuel or fuel filter problem.

UPDATE!!!

I ended up sending it to a local independent shop that works on the other 2 CRDs in my little town, and this is what happened:

The mechanic went back through and looked for air-in-fuel and couldn't find it. He did the injector leak-down vials test, and the "leakage" was within specs, so no injector failure. he found that while cranking, the pressure was high enough to start, but was not being sustained long enough to get it running. he deemed that my HP fuel pump was bad. I ordered a reman from IDParts, and a day after I got the part, Ole Libby was right back at it!!!! I have since put 1000 or so miles on her with no issues, other than a little burp of air from the filter the first day back, and a low boost code that I intermittently get, but I suspect this is fcv related, because I do not get this code when I do ORM. So basically it was either one or both of the flow control solenoids on the pump, or the pump itself went sour.

Glad you got it running again

For future reference, the fuel quantity solenoid (aka MPROP) can be tested and replaced separately from the CP3.
