I'm seeing two different Transgo shift kits available for the 545RFE:

SK 45RFE
45RFE-HD2

What's the difference between the two and which one do I need for my CRD?

I'd get the HD2. It comes with more springs.
You dont need the resistor.

Pull pan, pull filters .. pull valve body and take it apart.

you wont be able to do the trans pump mod or use the large snap ring without pulling the trans so you can get into the front drum. If you do, make sure you keep everything in order and count the snap rings and such so you can replace the right one.

If you are just using the springs it should be a cakewalk. You will also need to have a dealer or someone with the right tool to a "relearn" on the trans to make it learn how to shift properly again.
