Yea id be looking for another turbo, its normal to have a lil bit of play, but thats excessive.

I agree. It has a lot of radial movement. How much mileage on that turbo?

A couple things to remember about these: they need a little bit of room for the oil cushion to work, and that cushion is only created by the oil pressure.

That said, this does look like you have excessive play though, which is unusual for the low mileage. To save some money though, I would contact Naturist and buy his. It might have more mileage, but has zero play and was completely unrelated or bothered by his engine failure.

... Well,

We decided to put the current turbo back in and give it a go. Flushed out oil supply tube and return tube...

Will get the head assy back on this weekend and hope turbo won't brown stinkies the bed right out of the gate.... Told the man child to baby her for a little while and shut her down immediately if he heard what sounds like a dying hair dryer!

I will be using the evenings to reassemble things. Since I have time, I may order boost, egt, and oil gages!
