Hi,

I just got the eco tune along with the flash tool from GDE. After all the software installation and update, and plug the tool into the car (liberty crd) with key on, I can't do anything with the screen. It looks like the touch screen is busted. Has anyone had this happen to them before? Any help would be appreciated.

Pardon but why ask us as opposed to GDE?

That said I have no clue which GDE flash tool you have but the instructions for mine are quite clear that when you start a download or upload the key should be OFF when the tool is first plugged into the jeep. The tool will turn on and several steps must be performed before the tool will tell you to turn the ignition ON.

Perhaps you need to reread the instructions that came with your tool.

I did ask them, but haven't received any reply.

The instruction did mention to turn the key.

"
6. Using the supplied tool-to-OBD cable, connect the Flash-Scan 3 tool to your vehicle’s Diagnostic Port connector making sure that the ignition is in the run position (all lights on the dashboard should be lit up). Do not start the engine.

7. After connecting to the car, the tool will boot up and is now ready to perform the stock ECU calibration. Select the “Tuning” option in the upper left-hand corner and follow the on-screen instructions to select your appropriate vehicle and read the file.

Obviously a different flash tool then so you can ignore comments about how mine works.

Their latest flash tool is a touch screen... obviously not as good as the older ones.

So apparently the first unit is DOA.

I got the second unit today. But the touch screen is still not fully functional.

I was able to select the "tuning" and select "jeep" on this unit. But after that, the >> button doesn't work.
Only the backward << button works. So I am still not able to read the ECU.

This is getting very frustrating... Why in the world did they change the flash tool to something this crappy.
