Hi,

My wife has been in Buffalo, NY the past few weeks and has called me a couple of times (Im in Florida) telling me that she is getting Gray clouds of smoke from the exhaust and she says what looks like oil dripping from the exhaust. She told me she has been pumping the gas pedal to try to start the engine and has not been plugging in the Block Heater. Im hoping this is just an issue because of the temperature up there. Any comments would be great.

Thanks
Bob

She says she let it warm up for a while and that it continued while driving. She saw it smoking like this a couple of weeks ago also but not as bad and it happened while she was driving.

Thanks

any CEL? Have her swab the tail pipe, and if there really is oil, don't run it. Maybe injector, but that can cause cat as trophic failure just like oil out the pipe from the turbo. You likely won't get a loss of power until the turbo tears itself apart.
Have her report back if the dipstick shows any oil also
