After years of mostly reliable operation of my ELM327 bluetooth adapter and the TorquePro app on my tablet, I have run into a weird problem.
Previously, I could monitor a wide variety of sensors but now I can only monitor two. All other sensor data is blank. And I cant scan for codes either.
Those two sensors are battery voltage and engine RPM.
But whats weird is that the displayed RPM is exactly HALF of what engine RPM actually is.
Its almost as if it stopped monitoring the crank sensor and started reading the cam sensor.

Thinking that the problem was with my adapter, I bought a new one from a different company that seemed like it should work better.
But guess what? Same problem!

The only thing I've changed on the vehicle is that I recently swapped to a Ram Hemi TCM.
Now, the transmission works great with this TCM and I have had no engine performance issues whatsoever.
But is it possible that this TCM is screwing up the data bus and making the adapter not perform properly?
Or could it be something else?

Sounds like a protocol issue, auto detect doesn't work well. Do you have it manually set to ISO 9141-2 (5b init, 10.4k baud) as the preferred protocol.

Thanks. That fixed it.
I know I had set that previously. A recent update must have un-set it for me.
