Previous CRD owner here, traded away our CRD about 10 years ago.

I have found one for sale pretty close to me with 289k miles that has piqued my interest. Just looking for the problems that pop up on these at high mileage.

I had severe problems with the factory torque converter and was experiencing symptoms of the head bolts stretching. I was coming up on 200k miles and really didn't want to do a timing belt change, so we traded her off.

Same possible high mileage issues as the one you traded.

Torque converter failure & front pump wear issues.
Head bolts stretching / head gasket leaking
Exhaust Valves need replacing around 200k. (*they can snap off and destroy the whole engine)
      Harmonic balancer failure
      Fan pulley bearing failure
      Alternator override pulley failure
All idler pulleys and tensioner pulleys on serpentine belt
Timing belt, idler pulleys, and tensioner pulley
Suspension components sag and fail with age/mileage: Springs, Ball Joints, Control Arms, etc...
Wiring looms and vacuum hoses fail with age.

Probably missed a few, but these are the ones that come to mind!
The key is to find one that has already had all of these issues addressed! :BINGO:

Located along the treasure coast of Florida.

Not sure what part of the country you’re in, but I’ve got a 2005 KJ with 163k on it, timing belt was changed at 105k. Looks like the fuel injectors are coming up on needing to be replaced.

Putting it up for sale as my previous trusted diesel mechanic has moved & I no longer have the time to tinker with it.

What was the date of the timing belt change, and how much you asking for the Jeep.
Posting the asking price will help.
Can you post some pictures? Always help sale them.

Timing Belt was changed in 2018 @ 105k, currently 163k on the odometer.

160 horsepower
295 lb-ft of torque
0-60 mph in 9.5 seconds

Timing Belt was changed around 105k mi. Timing Belt kit will be included with purchase.

MAP sensor has been replaced ~10k miles ago & typically is replaced every 36k miles.

Fuel injectors will need to be replaced as they are starting to leak.
