Hello there
I recently bought a jeep crd model 2006. The previous owner never had changed timing belt. I checked the service book and refers that we have to change the timing belt every 60.000 miles. The car has only 35.000 miles but is 10 years old. What do you think? Shall i change the belt or I am safe and wait till 60.000 miles

Change asap. The recommendation is not just distance, but also time - that is every 5 years. The material of the belt does age irrespective of the distance driven.

Definitely change it!

I do low mileage nowadays as I am retired.

My last timing belt on my 2002 Export CRD had only done about 35,000 kms (20,000 miles) but was about 7 years old...my information states 6 years max. So I recently had it replaced at the Dealers...no way I can afford to have a belt break on me!

Change that belt ASAP. These belts should be done once every 6-8 years (no more than 8, 6 if you are paranoid), regardless of mileage.

The manufacturer of the belt specifies a six-year age limit. If you need assistance in doing the job, I am the traveling mechanic specializing in these jeeps. Definitely do not wait, you are nearly double the age limit of the belt and certainly on borrowed time.
