Hi All,

Looking to replace injector #4 this weekend and want some advice. I like to work in a bit of space and although that is challenging on our car I still want to try.

The wiring loom on top of the engine which is held in place by the plastic moulding, how flexible is that to move around?? If I undo the cap and remove the moulding, does this free this up enough to move the wiring loom out of the way completely??

Ideally I would like to tuck it to the right of the engine where your drivers side is to expose the whole top of the engine.

Any thought??

Cheers,

Chris

If you have the inclination to drain the coolant, move the coolant bottle away from the firewall, unplug and label approximately 8-10 electrical connectors, then you'll be able to flop it over towards the other side of the vehicle.

I don't unplug any of the stuff over on the turbo side, way too many connections and work. You can lift the harness enough by using bungee cord to the underside of the hood. Leave the wires inside the plastic channel, although you will find it helpful to unplug the MAF, airbox sensor, thermostat sensor, and viscous heater cables as well as the 4 injectors and the Map / fuel pressure sensor on the driver's side. Then you can lift the harness about 6-8 inches.
