Hey all

Did a run today and was only getting 15psi boost. Went home and all hoses are tight.

Built a home made boost leak test by sticking a capped pipe in the turbo inlet hose to just double check the hose is not damaged...no leaks

Ran the compressor at 15 psi and my provent was sounding off relieving pressure.

My question is a do the 200 hold more than 20psi boost before their saftey valve kicks in. Googled it and can not find the actual psi the spring is rated to.

I know it's only a small loss of psi but I like speed lol.

Can not hear any other leaks.

Edit : I did remove the provent from the test by passing the hoses and there was no noticeable sounds

Cheers
Chris

The Provent should be connected on the suction side of the turbo. It should never see any pressure. If it ever did get pressurized it has a relief valve and will quickly dump the pressure.

How are you measuring boost pressure? With a gauge or a OBD app?
Low boost could be any of the following:
1. Bad MAP sensor
2. Boost leaks
3. Vacuum leaks or bad vacuum solenoids
4. Restricted exhaust flow

Hmmm little confused then as I'm not to sure on this car how it all works.

The provent is connected to the ccv as per normal instructions. Why would it make a sound then when applying pressure through the turbo??

I have check all the above as a usual checklist except the exhaust and did have a feeling it could be from there.
