I have a 05 CRD. I have not installed but just purchased OME lift. it is the heavy duty with .25 top plates. I have 17'' moab rims with adapters. I ran across arengant build thread may 28th, 2010 on L.O.S.T. and thats what started this. he is running 255/75/17, I would like to run 255/70/17 at2's, but I read in numerous threads that these will not fit. Would 255/65/17's work or ???. tires are to expensive to buy a set that will not work. any help or advice would be appreciated!!! I know I will have to pound down pinch welds in the front fenders. Would be willing to do other minor triming. thank you for any help in advance.

255-70-17 is about a 31 linch diameter tire.
It should work with your lift but I can't be sure.

Most folks with 2.5 inch lift are using about 30.5 diameter tires.

I am on a 265/70R16 Duratrac which is a 30.6" tire and I do get a little rubbing on the front wheel well liners but nothing crazy. Being that its a little wider, it may act more like the 31" 255. I am on a OME hd spring+JBA top plates+clevis spacer+ARB Bumper, so probably around the same final height.

I also think the duratracs may run a little wider due to the shoulders. On my F150 I fit 275/60R20(33's) Duratracs and they proceeded to rip my Weathertech mudflaps off the second I left the garage and turned. Another guy with the same truck as me(crewcab long bed 4x4) was able to clear 275/65R20(34's) T/A KO2's with the same weathertech mudflaps. Both of us are on the stock, non-leveled, suspension. I would probably get rubbing with the 275/65 duratracs even without the flaps on.
