I have a 05 CRD need HELP. The horn started going off,and no one was in the vehicle and it was not running, not beep beep but just steady on. I could not get it to turn off. (It was running perfect yesterday), unhooked the battery and it sat for about 30 minutes, I reconnected the battery the horn was not going off. It started and ran, the glow plug light staid on and after about 20 seconds, the horn started to go off again. turned off the jeep and the horn kept going off. I disconnected the battery again. HELP, PS its really been RAINING hard, I drove through a lot of 1 1/2 foot deep water yesterday but I drove about another 60 miles and nothing happened, and this happened this morning.

I was just going to ask if it had been raining, then I reread your post. Check to see if your windshield is leaking. My windshield was installed improperly (by a moron) and it leaks. I had a problem with water running across the relay block. I pulled the relay and let it dry out, and eventually replaced it with a new one. Haven't had a problem since. One of these days I'm going to have to have the windshield (and all my added silicone) pulled and reinstalled.

Next time it starts blowing, open the fuse panel door and pull out the HORN RELAY, it should stop! Something is telling the Horn Relay to activate, could be the horn switch going bad, a faulty relay, or water got into relay?

From the FSM:
HORN SOUNDS CONTINUOUSLY
1. Faulty horn relay. 1. Refer to horn relay for the proper diagnosis and testing procedure. Replace the horn relay or repair the shorted horn relay control circuit, if required.
2. Faulty horn switch. 2. Refer to horn switch for the proper diagnosis and testing procedure. Replace the horn switch or repair the shorted horn switch circuit, if required.

Check windshield for leaking water down onto fuse and relay panel!

Update pulled horn fuse runs good and glow plug light went off. Could it be the clock spring cruise control has not worked in years? will replace relay.

Mine did the same thing when the sunroof drains couldn't keep up with the rain rate, and overflowed into the overhead.

At that point - the water runs down inside the A-pillar cover and empties out in the dash above the fuse panel on the left side.

Pulling the fuse was my only option until the rain stopped and I could deal with it.

Pro tip:
If you have any water infiltration into the cabin - you can have 30 gallons of water under the carpet and inside the padding before you notice it on top.
Stick your hand underneath the padding to check for water.

How does your BCM look under the fuse box in front of the battery? I had all sorts of lights and gremlins as a result of the housing to the little silver module rusting out. Keith at GDE actually recommended I check it out based on the symptoms I described. It was open to the elements and it caused all sorts of lights and gauges to flicker on and off whenever it rained or snowed a lot. At one point my Jeep locked me out while it was running in the dealership parking lot. I had it replaced, and all has been well since. You might want to investigate.
