Post subject:  Our CRD specific Hub/Bearing unit? - Sensor Plug attached?

Hey y'all,

I have my 05 KJ CRD Limited (which has ABS, Anti-lock Braking System) on jack stands, and I'm in the process of doing the replacement of my front Hub-bearing-units. I have held-off installing them due to a concern about the new unit I received: upon unwrapping it, I found that it has no sensor wire or plug attached to it. DOH! :banghead:

Listed on Amazon, I purchased these Timkens https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BZ53U6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1, it showed that units had the sensor plug all attached and contained, like this one:

Sadly though, when the ones ordered arrived, they didn't have any sensor cord pack attached to it like the photo above, nor any sensor wire or outlet at all. I guess I ordered the Non-ABS version on accident. Dang those inaccuracy photos! :furious:

Anyone know where I might be able to get the ABS Sensor versions on Amazon or somewhere else, ideally a high-quality and reputable brand (Timken or the like).

Any part numbers available?

Thanks in advance!

Sarma

I found this site that lists many different Hub/Bearing units, and they differentiate between ABS and Non-ABS, so that's good. But I wonder which ones I should get:

The parts numbers listed on the Timken's with ABS and 4WD are as follows:

2005 Jeep Liberty

Wheel Bearing and Hub Assembly

Are these the right ones?

Thanks in advance.

And is this video overview accurate for our CRDs? Anything different or specific for our CRDs?

That video looks right to me.
Although I completely removed the knuckle and then removed the hub. Couldn't get a tool on the bolts otherwise.
It's a torx socket for the hub bolts.

Go with whatever bearing you like as long as it's for ABS.
I got mine from Advance auto parts.

Unless my memory is failing me it is a 12 point hex.

I got mine recently from the company that makes this video, www.a1auto.com. The install was exactly like in the video, and they came in a pair with the abs sensor connected, and ready to plug. I am satisfied with about 1000mi on the new ones. The hub bolts are e-14, or something, I ended up getting a universal-type socket set to get them off, but reverted back to the 12pt, and it worked too. also, you will need a 35mm socket for the axle nut.

Mine were torx.
Had to go back to the parts store to get the special socket.
