A/C on my CRD just isnt that good. I have not confirmed with a temp gun but I might only get like 75 degrees from the vents.

I recovered freon and it was a little low. Vacuumed system down and did a leak test. Charged to 1.25lbs. I dont know what the pressures are when running but low side line is cold and high side is pretty warm. Compressor seems to be cycling like it should. Although the few times I actually popped the hood and listen to the system run the condenser fan has not been on. Checked the fuse for the fan and it is good. When is that fan suppose to run?

Aside from the fan not turning any other suggestions?

The condensor fan should come on with the AC.
Check fuses and relays.
Also check the AC low side pressure switch and wiring. Its kinda next to the battery by the AC compressor.

I think thats the high pressusre switch by the battery and low pressure is on top of the receiver dryer but correct me if Im wrong.

Anyway I swapped relays and the fan took off. Did a quick google search of the part number off that relay and it comes up for 30 bucks on Amazon!! Hopefully I can find an alternate part number at half the cost.

I guess I got the pressure switches mixed up.

Relays, good job!

Forget the part number - that should be a garden variety relay with 4 or 5 pins - the 4 pin variety should be what you need, pin 5 usually isn't used in this kind of application. Any auto store should have a bucket full, but you need to get past the "what car is it for" geniuses and actually match it up physically.

Relays are very basic devices. If the size matches for the pin locations - it will work.

I got the compressor clutch relay from Rockauto for $5; I don't know if the fan relay is the same.

As Geordi stated, any parts store should have plenty of them, problem is you are going to have to find a real parts person who knows more about parts than just looking up a part in a computer by year and model... I would start with NAPA if you have one and talk to the oldest person there, preferably a manager... And take your old one with you to show them what you need!
Good Luck!
