Well exactly but 11 years of doing this -- first with the dealer -- then with mechanic J and now with mechanic R

Husband doesn't want to hear me picking it apart anymore. wants to sell the jeep. My fault for falling in love with it and buying a used CRD that they never sold in CA so nobody round here has seen one. This is what civilians do - we go to the mechanic just like we go to the dentist. We trust them. But also - do we have a choice?

I'm here in this forum to try to do something myself. Not sure I can handle any of it but I am trying. As always grateful for you help advice support and tell it like it is because yah it makes no sense to me either to not diagnose the problem. Also they said I should keep driving the car!

Unfortunately, Codes do not always tell the WHOLE story and sometimes can even be misleading enough to point you in a wrong direction...
That is why a good experienced mechanic knowledgeable on these vehicles can be a huge asset....
