So my serp belt has been making noise for a while now, probably 10k+ miles. It started as a screaching at idle when a/c turned on but would disappear during acceleration. Just recently it kind of switched to a mild chirp that would increase with rpms. Today a thin strip of belt tore off and wrapped itself around the fan. I was able unwrap it and make it home on a partial belt.

Just removed the belt and started inspecting but I cannot definitively say what caused it.

-The belt is in great condition, no cracks at all (besides the missing strip obviously). Has 50k miles on it, gates belt, was replaced at 100k along with timing belt service.
-The idlers and tensioner roll freely, 1 has very minimal wobble but others are very solid, all have some bearing noise
-Alternator decoupler has dust under the cap but its black not red, otherwise rolls freely and feels like its in good condition
-a/c compressor pulley feels good

On the one hand id like to just replace what needs to be replaced, but on the other hand I have 153k miles (purchased with 60k so likely everything is original besides belt) so maybe I should just replace it all? Or just the belt and see how it does? What would you guys recommend.

Any screeching sound from the serpentine belt is a sure sign of potential failure and should be addressed immediately and not ignored for 10,000+ miles.

Setting rant aside:
1. 50k miles is as long as a serp belt should be run before replacing
2. any bearing noise that's loud enough to easily hear when the bearing is spun by hand is likely a sign of a bad bearing.
3. any bearing wobble is a sure sign of a bad bearing.
4. alternator pulley is an OAD pulley. It should spin backwards and spin with a spring feeling forwards IIRC. If it spins freely if both directions it's likely shot.

Given that you ran the screeching belt that long and that the belt failed I'd recommend at minimum you replace a) belt obviously; b) both idler pulleys; c) the tensioner (it has been bouncing for 10k+ miles probably; and d) the alternator pulley.

More rant; bad sounds = bad things and ignoring bad things get's progressively more expensive.

Rant deserved, I have no excuse other than that I didn't want to deal with it. I did not realize it was something that could be serious though for a while.
I also remember how much of a pain it was to get to when doing my timing belt so that was partly why I was putting it off. Thankful that with a little searching I realized it can be removed in 5min by just taking out the airbox.

Alternator pulley did spin freely both directions so I will replace the decoupler.

Thanks for detailed info. Based on it I am just going to replace it all. Its possible that I did further damage to other components by waiting so long, but for all of it to make it to 150k miles I don't feel so bad. My wife wants to drive the Jeep into the ground so I dont mind replacing parts like this as needed, I just hope it still have some good life ahead.

If I am reading correctly the bulk of the belt remained in place and only a thin strip pealed off and wrapped around the fan WITHOUT stalling the engine. I ask because there have been a couple of cases of the serp belt coming off and stalling the engine (belt got wrapped up in front exterior crank flange or somehow got partially inside the front timing belt cover). In those cases the engine jumped time. Consider this comment a suggestion that it might be worth considering double checking timing with the cam and flywheel pins.

That is correct about what happened. However engine did not stall and afterward removing debris it started up and drove and sounded normal. I sure do hope timing was unaffected. I still have my home made cam locking pins so I will check that

I saw mention of a timing belt change, but didn't catch the mileage when it was done or how many miles the new belt has on it....
