I mistakenly removed the Transmission control relay today instead of the viscous heater relay. It threw a bunch of codes and went into limp mode. I replace the relay and all is good, but I'm unable to clear the codes with my code reader.

Anyone know if they will clear after a couple of cycles or will I need to find a TCM OBDII tool to clear them?

If they are going to clear on their own it will be in ca. 5-10 drive cycles but only with a bit of time between each drive cycle. Otherwise it will take a code reader that can access TCM codes.

thanks, I've put about 5 cycles on it so far and they haven't cleared. I'll give it a couple more days.

Codes cleared yesterday on their own after about 8 trips.

Scott, glad to see your still around. Again thanks for the timing belt change. How many miles on "Ol" Blue now?

Hey Joe!

Haven't put a lot of miles on Ol' Blue recently still around 145k. I had a few issues that I corrected this last weekend.
Biggest one was the trailer lights were out so I couldn't use the Jeep for my usual towing chores.

I had to pull the rear plastic to get at the tow relays. Turned out to be a worn wire that was shorting against the body and kept blowing the fuse.

Fixed now, will drive Ol' Blue north for hunting this fall. Hows your CRD running?
