All,
I have the torque pro app and bluetooth dongle. The question i have is for monitoring boost, should i be using the intake or boost reading? They seem to be giving very differnt results. New to this app so im still trying to figure it out.

Your pictures are not displaying for me but:

Boost is relative to ambient pressure. So if you are at Sea level ambient pressure is at 14.7PSI, so boost is basically zeroing at this pressure, and any pressure your turbo makes above that is displayed. So if your total pressure is 15.7 psi, the boost gauge will display 1 psi. On a gasoline engine a boost gauge is nice because it will go negative and can show you vacuum. I dont think I have ever seen vacuum on our diesels. Even at idle there is some boost being produced.

Intake Manifold pressure is usually absolute. So it always displays a positive number, even if you shut the engine off. You will probably see it never drops below 14.7 psi or so depending on elevation. Mine sits at 11.5 psi because I am at 6500'.

I always use Intake pressure because the ECU tuning in this jeep uses absolute pressure for everything. So when you look in the tune, the targeted boost table is in absolute pressure so seeing it displayed like this in torque makes it easier to cross check. I actually use torque in metric so that it displays in millibars because of this as well. Boost in the tune is in millibars.

Okay thanks, I updated the first post to include links. not sure why they aren't showing up.

So if i understand you correctly i want to be more focused on the intake manifold pressure? I have been getting an occasional over-boost code so i wanted to see that the pressures are at. Any idea what the max pressure i should be seeing is?

On a stock tune it is 2335 millibar absolute. Since you are at sea level that works out to about 33.9psi absolute or 19.2 psi boost.

It depends. Like I said, I use it for tuning purposes because I am looking at intake manifold pressure in the tune. Most people talk in boost, so it may be easier just to watch boost.

I am in northern Illinois - about 1000 feet. The max boost I have seen on the torque app is right around 20, maybe 21 for a moment that drops to 18-19 under full throttle. This is with a GDE FT tune on a good engine with no known boost leaks. I "think" that a mechanical gauge may show higher peak readings as it measures actual pressure vs the MAP sensor that has an upper limit of 20 something. I would be interested to hear what others are getting for peak and sustained boost readings on Torque.

With a stock tune and TorquePro, under hard acceleration I can see boost peak at 22.3 psi and hold steady at about 20.5.
My boost gauge generally reads about 1 psi less than what TorquePro shows.
(Gauge calibrations may vary)

With the Yeti 811 stage 2 tune and my boosted boost mod, my boost gauge will peak at 28 psi and hold steady at 25-26 psi.

I'm normally at sea level. With stock settings and tune, at idle TorquePro will display 0.0-0.5 psi boost. But once while at 6000ft elevation I noticed that boost at idle was -1.8 psi.

My map sensor reads 10% high(890mbar when the ambient is really 800mbar) with the key on/engine off so I would assume a standalone boost gauge is gunna be better than torque
