OK.. Have a 2005 2.8L –
Driving the other day and the following happen..
Got a red battery display come up on the dash … then a few minutes later got the red lightning flash symbol come up – (No loss in performance) and then a few minutes later got the ABS then airbag symbol then hand brake symbol… then about 10 minutes up the road … the truck just completely shut down – lost everything…

Had this happen a year ago exactly and got a tow to the dealership. They replaced the alternator. Now this was happening yesterday and I made it into an Advanced Auto store before shut down (cut off 1 minute after being parked in the lot). They tested the battery which was a 3 year old yellow top Optima and came up with 6.5V. They said they couldn't test the alternator because the libby wouldn't start. We put in a red top (yellow was out) and ran the alternator test. I was told the alternator was fine. Drove home and it seemed like everything was back to normal. Then went to an Auto Zone the next day to make sure my battery wasn't draining from the days use. Was told a second time battery and alternator were good.

About an hour later after replacing the EGR coolant lines, I get the lights again. Also noticed the windows didn't want to roll up like they typically do, and lights dimmed badly when starting the truck. Seems like the battery is draining, but alt is a year old and battery is brand new. Any Ideas? Hopefully not a random ground. I would have no idea where to start if that's the case. Also I do have codes for 2 glow plugs. Just haven't changed them yet.

Just got a battery charger so I can get this battery back up to start the Jeep. It got so low it wouldn't start anymore. I will have some numbers here shortly.
