Hey everyone, We've developed a winter front kit for the CRD. (It should also fit the gasser KJ.) A winter front is used to block part, or all, of the grill during winter weather. This promotes faster engine warm-up and interior heat, better fuel economy, and helps keeps the engine at optimum operating temperatures. In my opinion, our kit looks a hell of a lot better than the alternatives such as the quilted vinyl version by Fia. The kit consists of 7 grill insert panels, made of texture-black powder-coated steel, with pre-drilled mounting holes and includes mounting hardware. No cutting, drilling or adhesive required! It's a modular kit, so you can run any combination of panels depending on how much of the grill you want to block. Production Photos: (7-piece, texture black)   Prototype / Demo Photos: (14-piece, green/black with Sasquatch) This version has 2 panels per grill opening, a black one in front with the design cutout, and a solid colored panel behind. We got a LOT of comments on this grill. If anyone wants green Sasquatches let me know. Other designs and colors could also be possible depending on interest.

Dang Seth, you need to get that patented and start pushing market niches! Everything from LJ jeep cutouts for LOST, to Playboy Bunny cutouts with Pink backing. |

Why metal plating rather than corrugated plastic? It is only blocking wind not rocks and flowing water... |

Seth, It may look slightly better than the FIA but I like the function of mine. It takes seconds to put on or to change to the bug screen and I can open the flaps if I feel I need more air coming through the grille. I also don't have to screw with zip ties every time I want to get more or less air through the grille. Don't get me wrong as yours makes a bold statement and looks sleek in the grille openings with options for different patterns but I think I will stay with my FIA Winter Front as it does its intended job year round. |
