Post subject:  Stock ride height
Does anyone know what stock ride height is of a 05 Liberty CRD?
Im asking because when i bought my jeep it came with OME front and rear suspension parts with aftermarket UCA's. This lead me to believe it was lifted but after changing out the rims and tires to 235/70r17 and getting rubbing, i think im running at stock height.

Roughly 32" from the ground to the fender at the center line of the wheel in the front. Just measured mine.

The OME suspension kit for CRD KJ advertises 1.5-2 inches of lift over stock.

Is the offset different on your new wheels?

there 4.5" bs on 8" wide rims. the company states that places the offset at 0. so technically they are pushed about 2" out from stock.

Ride height is typically measured from the center of the wheel up to the fender flare.
I think stock height for a CRD is about 19 inches.

i bashed in the pinch weld so now its only rubbing in the front bumper area, which i can still cut if i ever get around to it.

From ground to top center of fender flare measures 35", from center of wheel to top center of fender flare measures 21".

I guess this means i am 2-3" lifted.

The reason your tires are rubbing is your wheel offset is "0" on an 8 inch wide rim along with a 30 inch dia. tire! This puts the tire much further out in a positive direction and increases the turning radius arc which allows it to contact body parts when steering is turned.... :roll:
Your wheel needs to have a ~38 to 41mm positive offset with backspacing in the 4.5 to 5 inch range to lower the turning radius arc... :wink:

At 125K miles - I was running between 17.5 and 18 inches from hub-center-to-fender-flair-lip on all 4 corners.

I just had a 4 corner 2.5 inch JBA Silver kit, and JBA UCAs installed last weekend, so it's still settling in. My Yeep is sitting at ~21 inches hub-center-to-fender-flair-lip.

245/70R/16 Michelin Defender LTX tires on stock aluminum wheels puts the underside of the fender lip at 33.25 inches at the center.

(Just so you guys have a comparison point for costs:
I'm not as flexible as I used to be, so I farmed mine out. For all you guys who installed it yourself, or had a muffler shop install your kit for less than $400, the shop I was steered to by friends and locals had my Yeep from Wednesday to the following Monday evening and charged me a little less than $750 including the front end alignment, and researching replacing my 7 volt GPs with the 5 volt GPs I supplied.
He wanted $550 to install the GPs and module, and reprogram the computer. This was with the WEEKS EGR stage 1 and 2 kit installed already.

Until approx noon on Monday - the shop was convinced I had to have my front axles milled because they couldn't figure out how to get the clevis' installed and shoehorned in.)

Thats the main issue with rubbing
8 inch wheel should be 5 inches of backspacing, even then at your height you'd have rubbing
Get some 7 inch wide wheels/4 inches of backspacing, plus some new springs and shocks
I have only lifted two CRDs with OME 790 front 948 rear springs and OME shocks
sat them both with 3 inches of lift, ( done way over 30 gasser KJs )

Oh and NEVER measure ground to flare, different size tires / different heights
only measure middle of the wheel to bottom of the flare
My gasser sat over 38.75 inches grond to flare LOL
