I am getting ready to sell my crd. It's been a great ride for several years now but my family has outgrown it and it is now time to move on to something larger.

That being said, does anyone have any advice on selling one of these things? There are literally hundreds of gas burners within a 100 mile radius of where I live but rarely do I see a diesel for sale (only 27 on autotrader at the moment).

Mine has all the things done to it that someone that knows about these things would want. GDE Eco & Hot tune with programmer, Racor filter, 5v glow plugs, etc.. All this won't mean anything to someone who isn't well read about these Jeeps. Would my best bet be to just post it on the for sale threads on several forums? Do any of you ever scan autotrader and similar sites for crds?

Lastly, the average price on autotrader is $8585. Do any of you have a feel for the market values?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

It really depends on how many miles are on it.
The closer it is to needing a timing belt, the lower the price.

I've seen CRDs on autotrader with less than 100k miles selling in the $7-8000 range.
Low mileage + low price = timing belt needs to be done.

What is the mileage? Condition? Pictures? What is under the "etc" of your mod list, because there is a LOT that could be done for reliability that you haven't listed. That would reduce the price for anyone that is familiar.

Where are you located? If it needs the timing belt done, it may greatly increase your potential selling price if you can say that the timing belt and any desired work could be done by me either before or after the sale, as I am the traveling mechanic for the CRD. I can look it over and give an experienced evaluation to someone. A southern CRD may be worth more if it is rust-free, for example.

Thanks for the replies..

2006 Liberty Sport 4x4 CRD approximately 137,000 miles
1J4GL48586W107732
Bright Silver Metallic, Gray interior
Option Packages: 2TCA & 22C
In service date: 10/28/2005
CarFax reports 1 owner until 6/19/2012 @ 118,301 miles

I purchased (with 119,154 miles) it just after what appears to have been a timing belt failure. It has dealer repair bills totaling $4236.00. The bills indicate new pistons, timing belt, gaskets, bolts, oil pan, glow plugs, etc.

After purchasing it, I have done these things:

Read the NOOB guide!

    MAP Sensor
    Fan Belt
    Battery
    Fuses
    Alternator
    Brakes
GED ECO & HOT Tunes w/Programmer
    5v Glow Plugs
    Samco Hoses
    Intake Elbow Kit from SasquatchParts.com
    MOOG Complete Strut Assembly
    MOOG Ball Joints
    Racor 245 Fuel Filter & Heater - liberty.eurekaboy.com/racor.htm
Power Window Lifts on Rear Windows
    Rear Glass Hatch Supports
    New Keys (3 total)
Completely Removed, Cleaned, Applied Sound Deadening Material, Reinstalled Interior
    New Headliner
Reupholstered Seats in Gray Leather-Look Vinyl
    New Speakers (including dash tweeters)
Wiring In Place for More Audio Improvements
Silver Radio / HVAC Surround from Limited
Newer Aluminum Rims & Centers (same as from factory, mine were peeling)

Issues Remaining:
Recently I can't dim interior lights. Need to replace multi switch.
Gear shift lock doesn't always release. I have to jiggle it to get the key out.

I'm at work so if I think of more things, I will post them here.

Thanks for all the help and advice.
