We have a 2006 Liberty CRD with 236k. Very few problems ever. One of the serpentine belt idler pulleys failed recently which just derailed the belt but did not cause any further damage. The engine still starts and runs fine. I have replaced the two idler pulleys with OEM, so far so good. All other pulleys (alternator, water pump, PS, AC clutch) turn very smoothly and quietly. I have a new Litens serpentine belt tensioner which I want to install as a preventive measure. I know that just the belt tensioner pulley can be replaced, but I believe that it is wise to replace the entire tensioner assembly, based on the mileage. The tensioner assembly is attached by a single bolt w/ 13 MM head. Is the tensioner bolt an RH thread? It seems quite tight applying some torque in both directions. I don't want to go further without knowing for sure if it is RH thread or not. Also, the new tensioner has a temporary pin which is holding the tensioner in a compressed condition. Is it best to wait until the tensioner and new belt are installed before pulling this pin? Thanks for any help!

The bolt is a standard thread. Left loosey. Wait to take the pin out.

You will need to take the power steering pulley off first to get the tensioner off
