I drained my coolant as per the thermostat r&r in the CRD tech section. However, as I was draining the coolant, the pressure pushed out the drain plug and for the life of me I cannot get it to go back in. It seems like it will not go in far enough for the threads to catch and start pulling it back in. I am trying to get it started by hand first before tightening it back up. Is there any trick to it or any suggestions? Thanks.

I had to use my wire strippers to act as a lever to push it in while I simultaneously turned it with wrench. It's especially fun when it happens and you are not trying to drain all of the coolant.
