So this just started recently after i toke my CRD in to get the exhaust tested. While going up hill the whole body seems to rumble and vibrate when i give it anything more then 30% pedal, speed and rpms dont seem to matter. When flat or going down it doesnt happen, i can up to 75 mph and get the rpms up with no issues. My initial thoughts are engine/tranny mounts unless someone else has another idea. |

the TC was replaced less then 5000 miles ago unless they somehow blew it |

TC x2 If I really lay on the pedal at 1700 rpm's (peak torque) I get a shudder as well. |

Have you tried adding 1 extra qt ATF+4? When they did the TC did they use ATF+4? If yes to both then does rumble go away if you slightly back off on go pedal? If so it's likely the TC if no.... |

the rumble went away after a while so checked the fluid and it was a bit low. added half a quart of atf+4 and checked the underside of the tranny, its not soaking but it shows signs of seepage and it has been sitting for the last 6 months so im thinking a slow leak. |

Mine did this when the rear driveshaft joints were failing too |

Suggest you at least add the other 1/2 qt. Consensus is 545RFE likes to be a bit overfilled. |

Well the rumble continued after i put an extra qrt over in the tranny. So toke it to aamco sense it was under warrantly thinking its the TC or band bands. Turns out its my front driveshaft rear cv about to explode. |

Removed the front drive shaft and still can get the issue, i think its the TC as well but i need to convince AAMCO it is so they take care of it under warranty. |

Mine did it under load and it was the darn upper control arm above the REAR axle......I was ready to replace the torque converter also......And I had less than 500 miles after a complete rebuild with a good converter. Upper control arm may be worth checking. |

you know now that i think about it, it did reduce that rumbling a lot after i greased the front UCAs |

Sorry man, my dyslexia got me again! I meant to say rear axle upper control arm and have changed it in my previous thread. |

SO suspects are rear UCA, rear driveshaft or TC. how often is the rear driveshaft known to fail? i have 131000 miles so its possible it could be the rear UCA if its the orginal one. TC was replaced 3000 miles ago but they put a stock one in, supposly it was a euro stock but no way to tell for sure. |

Rear driveshaft is easy to inspect. Mine is stock original with 130k on it and it's tight. |

I was still on the stock suspension. It seems very much like I am having the same symptoms as you. I started a thread too where everyone said TC but the thing is it started so suddenly that I cant imagine its the TC. I have had almost 0 zero shudder up until now. My wife drove it all of last week and it was fine, then it sat over the weekend and was doing it when I drove it on Monday. It also doesnt necessarily seem like its only happening during TC lockup. I also added 1 qt of fluid to no avail. |
