So this liberty is the first diesel ive used where the glow plug light comes on then goes off but the glow plugs will still be active. Every other diesel ive ever used has the glow plug light on the entire time the glow plugs are active. So why was this designed this way and is there anyway to change it so the light is active with the plugs. |

The reason for such quick on and off is because the original ceramic glowplugs heated up very quickly and there was no reason for the traditional waiting period before cranking. As far as I know, there is no way to change the light duration, however, you can have your 7 volt stem reprogrammed to 5 volt for a different type glow plug......or install steel Etecno plugs in place of the problematic ceramics that are known to fracture and cause engine damage. |

The only way to know for certain is to remove one. Behind the alternator is the easiest one to get to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
