Trying to finish up this project (pulled engine, installed engine). There is a two stranded wire with an eye on the end that comes out of the same harness as the yellow wire that goes to the starter solenoid. Looks like it should go on to the main lug where the battery cable connects, but I can't remember (my son helped with some of the work and he is probably the one that disconnected this wire). I looked at one of my other CRD's and did not see this wire (this Jeep is a Limited and the rest are sports). Hate to hook it up and fry something. Here is a picture with the ring circled in red:

Looks like a ground wire.
Not sure if it connects to the starter, block, or body/frame.

edit
on mine it connects to where the motor mount bolts to the block

I think it goes on the block ground stud which is tough to see. You should have a spare nut for it, or its on the stud loose I'm guessing?

I think its a ground that should be on a stud on the block. The end of the stud has a torx head IIRC.
