Hey guys,

I've successfully got the jeep to a place where I am happy with how it is running. and have ARP studs installed.

I'll be making an oil catch can this afternoon, And plan to do the ORM.

I would like to not throw a code.

I need some clarification on the tuning instructions, I have a MPPS cable, and can read and ID the ECU.

mine is an 808. (2005 Australia)

So basic instructions,

I've read my .bin, and saved it in multiple locations.

I download Yeti's 808 EGR/FCV/DTC code delete + Mild tune (vers 1.02) - 450Nm

then I open my tune in titanium,

then open yeti's tune in titanium? or do I flash yetis tune straight from the downloaded file?

I did read the guide multiple times, but I must be missing something.

Is there a simple 5 step I can follow?

Really appreciate the help.

Make sure you have read and understand the first page of the DIY ECU Flash thread instructions!

viewtopic.php?f=98&t=78418

You may have to load the MPPS drivers manually, a common issue.
Titanium software is normally only used for modifying the OEM file if you have the knowledge and expertise!
Once you have the MPPS software installed and working correctly with the proper drivers.

Very important, make sure you have downloaded and saved a copy of your OEM file in a safe place in case you ever have to reload it via the MPPS cable and software?
using the MPPS software, reflash your OBC using the correct file for your vehicle. In your case the 808 file if that is your OEM file ...
Make sure your vehicle's battery is fully charged before the flash and make sure your laptop computer is fully charged or have both the vehicle and the laptop plugged into chargers for complete safety. Also very important, make sure your laptop is disconnected and disabled from connecting to the internet via wifi while performing any flashes!

I have reflashed my OBC a bunch of times and it gets easier and more comfortable doing it with repetitive flashes... it takes about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes to load a new flash!!!!
Good luck and keep us posted as to your success...
BTY: you will love the tune...

Ok,

So I just download any of the 808 tunes, load it with mpps and flash?

seems too simple, maybe I was over thinking it.

Looks like you've got a hell of a tricked up jeep according to your sig.

Yes it is highly modified but there are may other others on here with the same or even more modified Jeeps than mine; just look around!
Be sure and understand that as you add HP and torque with the tunes, other things can give you problems like the torque converter slipping or chattering (TC shudder) when in lockup in 5th gear due to the increased power... One of the first upgrades most have to do after installing an upgraded tune is changing the torque converter...
Like all vehicles, as you add additional horsepower and torque, other things will need attention....
Good luck mate!

If I flash either the 808 450nm or the 480nm, nothing happens when I turn my key. I have to flash back to my original for the engine to start. Is there a chance a previous owner has a gde tune on here or something? Is there a way to tell?

Need some help here, tried again, everything seems normal, but when I I'd ecu, I get no vin. Only thing that will make the car run again is flashing ecu back to standard.

1. What version of MPPS are you using?
v13.02 seems to be the most reliable for the CRD.

2. You state that your CRD is a 2005 Australian model. The 808 tune files are typically for 2006 N. American models.
So, either you are incorrectly reading the software version on your ECU, or a Australian 808 is different from a N. American 808.
In either case, the 808 file you are trying to write to your ECU is incorrect and thats why your engine wont run with it.

Please read the original instructions to Squeeto's thread in the DIY Tune forum (link above) see this part:

"After Read (F2), you need to determine what software version you have.
The easiest way is just open it with Windows Wordpad.
Here is the first line of my 808:
X Ò@ Ž 1037380808P53363K0 ¼ˆ§ˆ@
The 1037380808 number is shown."

or whatever those three numbers are is the code you load.

Only use MPPS software and cable. The Titanium is for modifying your program only. It's been a while since I have used MPPS but it's fairly straight forward if you follow the instructions in the first couple of posts in the thread DIY TUNE.

Cheers, I did read it, but it was still my error. I looked at my software version "103780809" saw the 808 in the middle and went on as if my car was an 808. It's an 809 I've flashed the egr/fcv delete + stock and see how I go. I don't see a tune with extra power, so I may have to pass on that for a little while.

You may want to request a performance tune help in the DIY TUNE/TECH forum section. Yeti and the guys that frequent that are great about helping out. Most of the actual tunes are so similar they can just copy/paste the performance sections and get you something in a short time.

Excellent advice; they are great people and will work with you if you ask for their help....
Not everyone has the aptitude and / or understanding to enable them to open their file and mod them using software like Alientech ECM Titanium or WinOLS!

If you want to try tuning yourself, you can check out the WinOLS Project thread in the Tech section. Open that file in WinOLS demo and it will show you most of the important tables we have found in the tune. This will at least give you an idea of what to look for in your tune and many of the tables may be at the same addresses.

Thanks for the suggestions,

I've looked into it

I think I'm going to go with the GDE eco tune.

Its proven, and I wont blow anything up :)
