Ok looking for suggestions. Installed the Weeks 1&2 about two months ago and did a fuel filter at the same time. Now the Jeep runs fine until warm and it starts a flashing ETC "lighting bolt" as well as a flashing low fuel light and it cuts out and nearly stalls. I thought this was an air in fuel problem but have fixed that and see no air in the system. Thought maybe it was a crank sensor since it happens when it warms up but I replaced it and it made no difference. Only codes it shows are for EGR circuit.

Can't find anything online about the flashing low fuel light. Any suggestions?

I've never heard of a flashing low fuel light, but most threads where I see a flashing ETC "lightning bolt" mentioned turn out to be a low voltage issue - usually the alternator has failed and is no longer charging the battery.

Yeah I've seen everything from using the gas and brake at the same time, alternator failure, battery failure, ground wire corrosion, throttle pedal failure, crank sensor failure, temp sensor failure...

Basically no one knows. But those are all fine. No one has reported the flashing fuel light that I've found.

Lift pump going in this week but I'm not holding my breath for a solution.

It's been two months since I've been able to drive it, should've bought the BMW X5.

What year is your CRD, and where are you located?
You may have a wiring harness issue, a wire going to ground somewhere causing an intermediate short that only shows up as the engine heats up?
Others have had similar problems....

It's an '05, the harness behind the filter head has no signs of wear, it's just strange that is did this the day I put the Weeks kit, glow plugs and filter in.

I'm in Portland, Oregon.

Thanks

Interesting problem this flashing light thing. I just bought my 2nd crd and the low fuel light would come on and chime , then it got progressively worse. Now all the instruments fluctuate. I just drove it 1300 miles and tried to figure out what causes it . It really seems to come and go as it pleases . I can say that IF i slightly jerk the steering wheel to the left I can make it happen . Another note , I removed the instrument cluster and cleaned the wiring connectors and also went through the grounds that I could find .

Just a guess, there is a ground just above the filter head under the rubber hood seal, make sure it is clean and tight!
Make sure you did not pinch a wire somewhere when you installed the elbow kit???

I'll look at the ground. I put the whole EGR and FCV back in and it still does it. So I put a lift pump in and it still does it. Although now the ETC light flashes all the time, and limp mode comes and goes. Super frustrating.

Has it thrown any codes yet, or still nothing?

It just has the EGR codes from the EGR removal. I put that back in and cleared the codes and it still did the same thing with no codes.

It now randomly accelerates at basically full throttle from idle, but when you push the accelerator pedal it does nothing. Pretty scary.

Sounds like you need to replace the accelerator pedal.
Check IDparts if you can't find one locally.

If you're pretty sure the wiring isn't rubbing anywhere, might try replacing the accelerator pedal position sensor.

Low or erratic Voltage can cause some strange problems on these vehicles with all their electrical and electronic circuits and components!

Finally threw a code after accelerating by itself again two days ago, P0606. So looks like I need a new pcm. And a for sale sign.
