My local mech was doing a diagnostic check for me yesterday when the wiring harness and everything else near the transfer case caught fire. Pretty much wiped out stuff around transfer case. The frame around the transfer case shifter in the cab pretty much melted.
To me, it looks beyond even close to trying to reconstruct. Guess I ll park and use for spare parts for #1. #1 was totaled in 2006 and rebuilt MX. Not so clean, no mods, rust, etc. #2 was very clean with all mods. This really sucks.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that. Hopefully insurance will recover some value? Maybe enough to get one with a boogered engine but really nice body?

Hello, sorry about your fire, but if you are considering parting it out, I am in need af a FCM or gateway module. Please let me know if you are interested in parting with it.

Thanks

I need to have it towed to my place next week and really evaluate the extent of the harness/transfer case issue. Think I ll just hang on to it for parts to #1 for the near term.

I would keep your eyes out for one that the owner has given up on. I bought two like that over the past month for reasonable prices.
Good luck.

You're right. However, living on the border, kinda at the end of the road, limits my options with serious distance issues to move a DOA CRD. Got #1 on the road today. Runs pretty good for an OEM.
