So I'm not sure what's going on with my 05 card. I was at work today and the horn started going off, not like an alarm or a solid honk it was as if the horn was held right between on and off like a flickering type thing. Also when I open the door to get out the odometer display turns off, as soon as I doo doo the door again it lights back up. Also when I started the jeep this morning my rear hatch unlocked. No other doors just the rear hatch. I had a similar issue about a month ago and it was a loose ground wire but everything is tight as far as I can see. Any ideas? I pulled the fuse for the horn currently.

Start checking around the body control module. It controls the horn and rear door latch.

What would I be looking for? Bad wires? Bad module? How would I know?

There might be wires rubbed open. Maybe a bad ground. Ground issued cause a lot of goofy things.

Any fault codes? Do you have access to a place with a high end scanner that can talk to all vehicle modules (not just a code reader like parts stores)? Some places will scan for free.

The module may be on the fritz. But a scanner should be able to confirm that.

Also check battery connections. Bad battery connections cause a lot of weird things too.

I would first check the battery terminals and cables and have the battery checked by a professional quality scanner.

When my battery bit the dust it caused the rear door to start repeatedly locking over and over whenever the key was in the on position. It would also cause the lights on the dash to flicker on and off in a seemingly random pattern. The computers in these vehicles can do some crazy stuff when the voltage is applied incorrectly, and the battery is the first link in that system, so start there.
