I'm finally giving in and putting up my 2006 CRD for sale. It is in pieces with lots of engine carnage. First it broke the rockers at about 103,000 miles and shortly after fixing those, it dropped a valve into the #1 cylinder and took out the piston, sleeve, etc. Right now the car sits with the engine removed and completely disassembled. I know this isn't much information but I should be able to answer any questions easily. The vehicle is located in Plymouth, IN and the price right now is $3000 obo. The body is in very good condition with no rust and a few small scratches. It would make a good candidate for someone with a bad body to swap in a good motor. Please respond to this thread or PM me with any questions. Right now I would like to sell it whole as is but if there is no interest I may entertain parting out some things at a later time. I will be working on loading pictures as the day goes on. Thanks. |

I think those are the first Liberty cloth seats without water/soda/coffee stains, that I've seen. Nice! |

i see you have nice a garage and lots of space , so leave it in the corner and one day you will put it back together , yes it is stressful looking at this broken valves , hope the next set won't brake on you . i hope by now they upgraded them like they did with rocker arms |

It's time to cut my losses and move on. My loss is hopefully someone else's gain. |

Funny.. the exact same thing happened to my first 05 at 200k, but I bought it broke and got 2 months out of it before it died.. Got another one, changed the rockers at 160k and use the first one for parts. |

I would like to buy it, but shipping costs to FL are probably not going to make it worth while. That and the cost of a replacement motor. If you are flexible, PM me and I will make you an offer... Thanks, Nick |

i say most of crd owners did preventative maintenance , to avoid this , but we do not know the quality of the valve the VM installed in this engine ,but we do know , that installing extra gauges would be helpful , like , boost pressure , oil pressure egt. rail pressure , if we have these on our dash panel we would know exactly . what going on internally so we can stop on time and save it . |

Unfortunately there are no gauges that we can install that will predict a valve about to break! Wish there was, we could sell the heck out of them if there was such a device... ![]() |

Took about 6 months for me to fix that just for the dang thing to drop a valve about a week later and take out the engine. |

I had many plans to fix all the week points but the car failed before I could get to them. Now the money I would have to put into it in order to get it running on top of what i paid for it and what its worth just don't make financial sense. Hopefully some one else can get it up and running and enjoy it. |
