So my intermittent tranny issues with the OD off button either not working or getting stuck on have suddenly changed to something more serious. The other day I was heading out on a road trip and accelerating onto the freeway when I felt the rig lurch and hunt for the next gear. I immediately turned around and headed home but it acts like the TC is not locking up as the RPM's were too high on the highway coming back home and at every shift point where it was supposed to be locking it wouldn't or would briefly try then not bother. We don't have a tranny shop within 70 miles of here. The dealership said they don't have a tranny tech any more and I took it to a local fixit shop and they said they were waiting on their tranny supplier to get back with them... I called the tranny shop I usually use and they said it could be a bad TC lockup solenoid or the actual TC itself. I tow my boat with this rig in the mountains so if I need a tranny and TC I want it done right. Who carries the "Euro TC" I've read about or a similarly durable one? Thoughts? |

Fluid level? Should be at least to the "full hot" line. IDParts and Sasquatch, I believe, both carry euro and/or Suncoast TCs, if it comes to that. Florida Torque Converter makes a Hemi TC (13-37) as well as a slightly higher stall version that they offer for the 2.8 Jeep - Motori (13-35) They told me it has the same clutch as the Hemi offering, but wouldn't give an actual torque number or rating. |

Update. Well I took the rig to my tranny shop and he said it's shot. He did say for $2,500 he will build me a rock solid one with all the updated improvements he knows I will need for towing my boat. It's just money right? Now I can get the GDE full torque tune! |
