Hi all,

If you mean engine oil it's ca. 6.3 qts with a stock size oil filter or 7 qts with an oversize oil filter IIRC. Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 is a good option or something similar as long as it's diesel rated.

Make sure what ever brand you purchase is API rated CI-4 OR CI-4 Plus! These oils have the correct base stock and additives needed for the 2005 year model Jeep CRD!

Current CJ-4 & CK-4 rated oils are especially designed to sustain emission control systems durability in diesel engines installed starting in 2010 and later model diesel engines where particulate filters and other advanced aftertreatment systems are being used. They should not be used in Jeep CRD's due to their lower zinc levels and package additives...

There are several good brands available that currently meet the CI-4 OR CI-4+ API ratings!

Anything else is a real gamble and should not be used in the Jeep CRD engine...

Thanks for the help, went for a New Hampshire state inspection today. Small local shop mechanic/owner was quite interested in it and impressed him with the oil selection, went with the Rotella T6 5w40 and the mobile 1 filter. Passed on everything but the front brakes, changed those this afternoon, shoulda caught those beforehand, I don't think he will charge me again. $200 day overall.
