My crd2 recently caught on fire. Messed up the harnesses. Any suggestions on how I can open the locks on the back hatches. Need to tap in or crawl back and pull off paneling. Not really sure which way to go.

The inside paneling on the left side of the vehicle just to the left of the left rear seat covers the loom that goes to the rear door. Pinouts from the BCM should indicate the colors you are looking for. Sir Sam has all the FSMs available online, so whatever model you have, do a Ctl+F search for Swing Gate. Whatever you're looking for will be there.

To open the back door? Way easier to open the lock manually.

The plastic on the inside of the back door, the square is an access port. Pull it off from the bottom (a screwdriver or key is useful to give you a place to grip) and then open the rubber seal inside that, behind the insulation (which is perforated)

Reach in toward the passenger side of the body, and you are feeling for a plastic round shape like a small stack of quarters, that the "faces" would be facing the front or back of the body. There is a little lever on the bottom of this round piece, it pushes toward the passenger side (toward the lock) to lock the door. So you want to pull it toward you instead.

The vertical metal rod pushes down when you pull the handle - that is what releases the door catch.

It is hard to get to when the door is closed, but there is a lever on the passenger side of the glass latch (just under the plastic trim) that if you push down, it will release the glass latch. You don't need to do this to open the door however, when the door opens it will shove its way past that latch.

Here's a picture I took a while back of the door latch, might be helpful. This is from above, looking downward into the door.

Yes! That white round part is the lock for the door - pull the "lever" part of that toward the center of the body, and the door will be unlocked.
