I would not worry about replacing it just yet if you are
NOT experiencing any shudder or slippage when accelerating uphill and the transmission is in 5th gear with the torque converter locked up.
Some have reported having no issues with TC shudder with their OEM TC's. Others not so lucky experience it in 4th and 5th in lockup when accelerating uphill.
Some also choose to live with the shudder for a while by simply backing off the go pedal when it starts slipping. This can be done for a while to baby it until you are ready to fix it for good.
Mine started slipping just as soon as I reflashed the ECM and started raising HP and torque, so I replaced it with the SunCoast TC. Never slipped again even with 4k loads behind it.
If you want a very good torque converter, one of the very best is the SunCoast.
http://www.suncoastdiesel.com/You have to call them on the phone as they no longer list their TC for the Jeep Liberty CRD on their website, but they still build them.
The are not cheap, but they are good.
Florida Torque Converter is another one that some have installed and reported very good results and they are only $196.00 + $40.00 core charge.
https://www.floridatorqueconverters.com ... 45RFE.htmlSome just simply buy a TC for the Dodge Hemi truck and install it. Different stall speeds but it seems to work pretty good according to reports on this forum.
Lots of reading about this one and others on this forum, just search.
