I don't have that fuel head but I don't see any reason why you couldn't do that. Question is is the port pre filtration or post filtration. Either way you would get a reading but only the post filtration pressure would indicate the pressure to the fuel pump and it would also indicate whether or not your filter was getting clogged and needing replacement. It may have arrows indicating direction of fuel flow if it does that would be nice. Or you could put some fuel in hose connected to the port and see whether it comes out of center threaded part you attach filter to or not. I will wager that is what it is intended for.

Hope this helps
Kelly

According to Racor's specification sheet for that fuel head, it has one inlet and two outlet ports; so you could use the extra outlet port for a fuel pressure gauge and it would work perfect.
Having an outlet gauge will let you monitor the filter condition (ΔP) provided you have a lift pump installed!

yes there is two outlets, one inlet. Ok i will put a pressure gauge on it once i get the lift pump installed. (sitting in Customs, not looking forward to the Duties....)

Not sure if you are using this to replace primary or as secondary filter.

I would not add a secondary auxiliary filter without a lift pump, it would exacerbate the air in line problem if you have that and require more suction from CP3 fuel pump.

I wholeheartedly agree; a lift pump should be in place before adding a secondary fuel filter! Would not be good for the CP3 injection pump to have to try and suck fuel through two filters!

no no....there is a lift pump coming.

my fuel polishing setup will be completely separate from the engine fuel system. It will run 24/7 on deep cycle CAT batteries charged by a solar panel.

I just wanted to see if i could add a gauge to the engine fuel filter i just installed.

I like gauges , the more the merrier.... :SOMBRERO:

Remember to swap out the sending unit - float arm assembly for the one on your existing unit.

Otherwise you will have to bend the float arm, or your fuel gauge will be reading 1/4 tank when you run out of fuel.
