I just got back from the Alternator repair place that rebuilt my alternator last year. I had brought the alternator in for a pulsing of the headlights and interior/dash lights that I thought might be the alternator.

Turns out it's not the alternator, so I'll need to chase that further sometime later, but the technician (actually, he owns the shop) said he doesn't use Litens anymore, as they've let their quality fall off in the last few years. He buys OAD pulleys and all the internals for his alternator and starter rebuilds from a company called ZM. They're manufactured in Brazil, and he said the pulleys outlast Litens (he also has way, way, way fewer DOA pulleys) and are half the price or less, generally speaking.

He was busy that day, so I didn't press him to find out the exact price of our pulleys, figuring my Google-fu could do it! I haven't found a price yet, but did find a listing on ZM's website. (http://www.zm.com.br/eng/catalogo.php)

Here's the info from their web catalog pulled up using the year/make/model search. The image has dimensions included, but I'm unsure if it'll keep displaying if they see externally linked pages??? It works in the preview though, so I'll cross my fingers!

Hmm, wonder what his price is. Maybe he buys so much that he gets wholesale pricing​. He made it sound like he'd be surprised at $25. I'll ask next time I'm through there.

Repair shops generally never pay retail for any part! They buy from wholesale suppliers who charge them Jobber rates due to the volume of parts they purchase!
Generally speaking, Jobber rate is ~10-15% over the cost of the part!

I can assure you that Litens quality has not dropped off in the slightest. Your alternator repair technician does not know what they are talking about. Litens currently makes 33 million OADs for almost every car maker including Toyota, Honda, GM, Ford, Chrysler, Nissan, VW and the list goes on and on.

With respect to the Liberty CRD, the original OAD 920720 was a very early design (late 90's early 2000s)

I will absolutely recommend to anyone in these forums to use the 920834 as a big upgrade (current 2017 design) in durability to the original 920720 OAD.

Oh yes.. one more thing, the 920834 is cheaper than the 920720!!!

ZM has NO OE decoupler pulley business... so buyer beware. If you are using a ZM decoupler pulley....keep an extra one in the glove box and the tools to change it on the trail.
