I wish I had downloaded his pics. They make things really obvious.
The big thing from a notice standpoint, is look at a good pic of a real Mann-Hummel Provent.
If the one you have doesn't have the full mann-hummel brand marking, it's fake.
Mann-Hummel are very proud of their products, and mark them accordingly.
The other thing I remember, is a true provent will have a clean visible even line where the plastic is joined at the mold halves. The seam on a fake will have been ground smooth, possibly with offsets.
This from another forum site: The fake catch cans are advertised as Provent 200
Style catch cans, meaning that they are not genuine. I bet that has caught a few out thinking they are genuine.
Found Low Res backup photos. Put on your reading glasses or use a Jewelers Loupe

One other thing, is IF Mann Hummel authorized a low price sale, we would have already heard it through Sasquatch Parts and IDParts. They both sell the real deal, and really look out for their customers.
