I have the Throttle Position Sensor light on and of course engine not responding normally to throttle.
Is this usually a bad connection or a bad sensor?
Looking for the part I searched for the part number on it 53013703AB. what comes up is the pedal assembly that includes this sensor.and ID parts sells it as a whole assembly. Has anyone replaced just this part of the assembly or does it need to be replaced as a whole? I am going to check connection first, maybe that is the problem but either way would like to know for future reference.

Yes, the sensor is in the pedal.
The whole pedal needs to be replaced.
Of course, check the wiring first.
Have you scanned for codes?

For sure check wiring and check the connector that plugs into the petal assembly.
The most common cause of an ETC light is braking with the left foot while simultaneously applying throttle. Shut-off/restart should take care of it.

I remember a member a year or two ago that found a lot of wetness in his floorboard in the area around the petal assembly that was causing issues...
also,
see this thread:> viewtopic.php?f=5&t=63268
and this one:> viewtopic.php?t=45800

hope this helps?

yes I checked for codes none. It may have happened when I stepped hard on accelerator to avoid being rear ended by distracted driver. I probably unconsciously stepped on it much harder than usual!! At least I didn't get hit :JEEPIN:
