I had this heading in frequently asked questions if any one needs to recap but after some digging the engine is a mess after frim what i can tell someone fitted the cambelt incorrectlyso the engine is coming out but an offer of a 2.8 grand voyager has been offered to me for its engine will it fit ?and are there any modifications needed for the swap ?like wiring ,ecm etc ? |

Hopefully someone else from Europe or Australia can provide a more definitive answer. There were no Voyager diesels here in the US. I'm pretty sure that when going from a 2.5 to a 2.8 you would also need a ECM for a 2.8 Jeep Liberty. Also, because the Voyager minivan is front wheel drive, these things will not be the same: motor mounts intake routing exhaust manifold and exhaust connection serpentine belt pulleys and accessory brackets With both engines out, you would have to do a careful analysis or what things are same and what is different. Then determine what 2.5 parts can be swapped onto the 2.8. |
